Community development the Starbucks way

March 20th, 2007 · No Comments

In his recent blog, Mark Roberts recountsĀ his discovery of a resource that is significant to church life,

It’s called The Green Apron Book. The success of Starbucks is as much about the way they welcome customers as it is about the coffee they sell. Here’s what they ask of all employees (called partners):

Be Welcoming Offer everyone a sense of belonging.

Be Genuine Connect, discover, respond.

Be Knowledgeable Love what you do. Share it with others.

Be Considerate Take care of yourself, each other and our environment.

Be Involved In the store, in the company, in the community.

I cannot help but wonder if it is good enough for Starbucks, and if it is good enough for God, then is it equally good enough for me?
